Venterkemp is a tiny moon orbiting Myrmidis Prime. It has no atmosphere, almost no gravity and extremely low velocity. It takes over a year to fully rotate and its distant orbit from Myrmidis prime takes over 5 terran years to complete.
Centuries ago, Venterkemp was rich in certain mineral compounds but they have long since been mined away, leaving a barren rock perforated by mine shafts and dotted with discarded mining machinery.

The only currently active structure on Venterkemp is the Astropathicum Parax listening station. The moon’s remote, slow-moving position leaves it uniquely positioned away from any interference, both psychic and electronic.
The Parax station is a dual purpose installation functioning both as a monitoring station where vast auspex machinery intercept, filter and interpret signals from outside the system and specifically from the Perdian Gap, while at the same time being an Astropathic monastery, home to a handful of astropaths at any given time, listening for messages through the warp.
